We looked at traditional style freestanding baths in my previous post, now for the contemporary take on things. There’s absolutely no doubt that a freestanding bath is a real showstopper in any bathroom and no more so than this amazing slab sided bath above. Granted, this bathroom is huge, by hey, if you’re lucky enough to have a room this big and a budget to match, then why not?
The Spa Experience
The popularity of spa style bathrooms shows no sign of abating, and it’s easy to understand why. With the emphasis on clean modern lines and engaging all the senses, spa style bathrooms offer a sanctuary, a space to escape day to day pressures and truly relax and unwind. For the ultimate in spa style bathing, try this rimless egg shaped bath which is designed with a maximised internal bathing area. You’re not going to want to get out of this one in a hurry!
Contemporary Roll Top Baths
For a contemporary take on the traditional roll top bath design, this luxurious one piece natural stone freestanding bath below would make a stunning centrepiece in any modern bathroom. In addition to it’s natural good looks, the tub itself is deliciously deep, again one to linger in, that’s for sure.
It has a timeless appeal that combines modern minimalism with soft curves and lends itself to being accessorised with masses of fluffy towels.
Ever the practical one, I love the built in ledge on this roll top bath below, it’s just the thing for stashing all your bathing paraphernalia on.
And even more practical but just as lush is this gem of a bath below. With it’s slightly lowered shelf with wooden top, you really can line up everything you need for a serious soak without the worry of accidentally knocking it into the bath. This would definitely be the place to put that ice cold glass of wine!
Something Completely Different
And finally, three terrific baths, each offering a totally unique bathing experience.
Sublime in Stone
First up is stone bath from Neutra at CP Hart. For a decadent, new world style bathing experience, this one ticks all the boxes, just make sure your floor is strong enough to take the weight.
Staying with natural materials, bathing takings on a whole new dimension if it’s enjoyed in a wooden bath like this one, handcrafted by Scottish company Wooden Baths Limited.
A Really Rock n Roll Bath
Outrageously outstanding were the two words that sprang to mind when I first saw this bath.
This bovine inspired bath is made in Belgium from Compolight and covered in imitation, water resistant cow hyde, and available from CP Hart. As with all three baths in this section, it’s a quirky, aspirational, blow the budget (what budget?) and absolutely fabulous.
