Tea – my favourite drink ever, and there’s only one way to make tea, in a teapot! I’m quite adamant about this, tea definitely tastes better when it’s had a little time to brew in a proper teapot, just as coffee tastes much nicer when made in a pot of it’s own.
I tend to buy classic white teapots, but thought it would be fun to take a quick look at some of the more original teapots on offer at the moment. I’d actually love to own every single one, and perhaps my plain white models could take a back seat for a while. I think that the three spout model might be a bit of a challenge though.
The Curious Cat Teapot
I love this curious cat teapot. It oozes character and the beauty of black and white line drawing is that it allows for quite a high level of detail without ever feeling overpowering. Serving tea in this little beauty really would be ‘puurfect!’
The Designer Teapot
Wow, I think this elegant and wacky porcelain teapot is absolutely fabulous. Featuring feathers, animals and exotic women, this teapot is ideal for adding designer style to any tea time gathering.
Tea or Something a little stronger!
For another fun and fabulous design, look no further than this splendidly quirky bone china Gin teapot. It will certainly resonate for those of us who, whilst happy with tea are perhaps planning something a little stronger later!
For a little oriental luxury at tea time, this Japanese style teapot has a vibrant blue ink stamped pattern, touches of lacquer red to add a touch of drama and a bamboo handle to complete the look. You may not have time for a full tea ceremony, but tea served for this is bound to feel a little special.

The Hipster Teapot
Now this teapot is an absolute must if you have a hipster in the house. Bang on trend, featuring retro images and styling, it’s ideal for serving that first, and many would say, best cup of tea of the day first thing in the morning.
Alice in Wonderland & Mad Hatters Tea Party Teapots
What can I say about this teapot? If you really want to bring your tea party to life, then you need this Alice In Wonderland triple spout model. This is just about as fun as it get in the teapot stakes. Don’t worry though, there is a practical element to it, although it’s a three spout design, only one pours!
Starfish Tea Strainer
If you prefer loose leaf tea to teabags, then a strainer is essential and I especially like this starfish inspired design. As you know, I have a soft spot for all things coastal and I think this little beauty is exquisite and would put a smile on your face every time you used it.
Paint Your Own Teapot
What an absolutely fantastic idea, this paint your own tea set would make an ideal project for the kids during the long summer holidays.
With 15 pieces to paint and twelve specially mixed paints, This should provide hours of fun, even on a rainy day, brilliant!
Just one idea of how to decorate the set, but, as always, the only limit is you’re child’s imagination, and we all know how far that can stretch. Have fun!
