You may not be too familiar with the name, but I bet you have a number of their products at home. Wham is the trade name for What More UK limited, established in 1999 and now the UK’s largest manufacturer and brand leader of plastic housewares.
When Wham invited me to select a number of their products for review, I was initially intrigued, I didn’t particularly recognise the name, but as soon as I went over to their website, I saw “my” storage boxes, staring back at me. Just like me, you probably use Wham products everyday without even realising it.
From household storage, DIY toolboxes, organisers, gardening pots, pet care, food storage and wooden brushes, Wham manufacture them all at their state of the art facility, in the North West of England. They also manufacture an extensive range of bakeware and ovenware
As a proud supporter of British industry and manufacturing, it’s a pleasure to review Wham’s products. I asked if they could send me a really strong yard brush, so I could get on with my post winter garden tidy and three different sizes of their flexi store tubs. Here’s how I got on.
Tidying the Garden with the Wham 12″ Heavy Duty Broom
As regular readers will know, our rear garden is effectively a garden of two halves. A terraced area with steps up the middle, leading to quite an expansive courtyard garden. This area is quite concrete heavy, and at the moment, it’s too costly a job to replace the concrete with something softer.
I’ve painted the rear retaining walls a warm terracotta shade which adds a lovely Mediterranean glow to the garden.
However, as you can see, the patio consists of a large area of concrete.
Which over the winter months attracts all sorts of debris and really benefits from several sessions with a heavy duty outdoor brush to lift all the surface grime. Cue the Wham 12″ heavy duty yard/path broom.
As readers with similar patio surfaces will know, in order to lift all the dirt, dust, leaves and so on that accumulate, you need a really strong brush with stiff bristles that don’t bend as you’re brushing. If this happens, half of what you’re trying to sweep up, just stays on the ground.
The great news is that my new wham brush is more than up to the task, as you can see, it collects everything in it’s path, literally.
As you can see from the photos above, I love to garden & I’m always re-potting my pots and planters to keep the seasonal colour going. A heavy duty brush like this is invaluable for the busy gardener as fallen compost, leaves and general garden spillage on the patio can be swept up, in one go, in no time. It’s practical, hard working and totally fit for purpose, so it’s great to be able to add this brush to my outdoor maintenance armoury. Result.
How I Use my Wham Flexi Storage Tubs
Gosh, over the years I’ve had a number of flexi storage tubs and my goodness, they’ve worked hard. When I’m refurbishing a property, I find them invaluable for transporting building debris from indoors to the skip on the drive. They’re really strong and have super comfy handles, even with a full, heavy load.
As we’ve just finished refurbishing our house, I can’t show you just how much building rubble I can fit into these fantastic tubs, but believe me it’s a lot. I don’t know where I’d be without them to be honest as they are so lightweight, but extremely durable. When we move, remind me to take a couple of action shots of these fab tubs on the building site we always call home during a refurb!
The Wham flexi store tubs are available in a rang of sizes from 8L to 40L. I’ve already vouched for their durability, but the flexible properties of these super tubs means they’re incredibly versatile. The integrated handles are lovely and comfy whatever the weight of your load and they literally can be used for just about any practical storage and transportation jobs in the home, garden, garage, stables, down at the beach and beyond. Take a look at how I used my new tubs over the weekend.
Flexi Store in the Garden
Whether is collecting mounds of fallen leaves in the autumn, a stash of weeds in the summer, or indeed, as in this photo below, collecting everything together reading for some spring planting, the flexi store tubs are a gardener’s’ delight.
Flexi Store Motorbike Maintenance
My other half has a motorbike, and as any bike owners will attest, motorbike maintenance is key to a happy bike. And for storing all the essential bike bits? Surfice it to say that my new 25L flexi tub was soon put to good use!
Flexi Store Banishes Wash Day Blues
Well, the tub may be blue, quite a fetching shade of azure actually, but there’s nothing dull about collecting all the freshly dried washing in a flexi store tub. This 40l tub holds loads.
Flexi Store Keeps Toys Tidy
Bright and cheerful and such a practical solution to kid’s bedroom storage, that’s the cuddly toys sorted then!
Flexi Store at the Seaside
Just before this lovely jade green tub was commandeered for motorbike maintenance duties, see above, I managed to take a quick photo to show you how useful these tubs can be down at the seaside. Buckets and spades, beach towels and even wet swimwear can all go in and happily transported down to the beach.
Take a look at the Wham’s Flexi bags if you’re looking for similar storage that’s just a little slimmer to squeeze into a tighter spot if space is limited.
So, as you can see, Wham’s terrific Flexi Store tubs and brilliant 12″ yard brush have already earned their stripes after just one weekend’s road/home/garden/beach testing. They are great products; attractive, functional, affordable and made in the UK, what’s not to like?
