I love home fragrances, so when Susie, owner of Crump & Co offered to send me a selection of Parkminster home fragrance products that she stocks, I jumped at the chance to try them. I now have the most beautifully fragranced home, but more of that in a moment, first here’s a little background info.
Crump & Co is a boutique homeware and gift store located within The Emporium an award-winning store in Wellington, Somerset. The Emporium is home to nearly 50 different shops offering thousands of homeware and gift items, many of which are handcrafted in the surrounding areas by talented traders.
Her background in the creative side of UK retail fashion and her extensive overseas business travels has given Susie a unique appreciation of how both UK and fairtrade sourced goods can be promoted via high street retailers. As Susie notes ” I have a passion for stocking Made in U.K. goods and/or Fairtrade – I really want to be part of the High street revival, it’s immensely important for the local economy and also for people to feel that “community spirit”
If you’re passing pop in and have a browse around the shop, I certainly intend to, you might even bump into Connie the Airedale terrier , Crump & Co canine helper! If you’re not in the area, then you can easily order online.
A Little About Parkminster Products
Parkminster have been making candles and home fragrance products since the beginning of 2010. The quality of their products gained such a positive reputation that their candles and home fragrance products are now well known throughout the UK and in Europe. All their products are produced in a simple and traditional way, everything is blended in small batches, hand poured, labelled and boxed in West Sussex, in the UK.

And now the really fun bit, product testing, it a hard job, but someone had to do it! Right from the off, it was good news, as soon as I opened my carefully packed box of goodies, the fragrance wafted straight up towards me and it was divine!
I received four products;
- A large Votive Candle in Fresh Fig
- A Reed Diffuser in English Garden
- A Mandarin Spice Room Spray &
- A Coconut Fragranced Soap
The products were beautifully presented in chic brown card packaging and had that luxe look that makes them ideal gifts.
Large Votive Candle in Fresh Fig
This is a substantial candle, with a burn time of around 60 hours and the fragrance didn’t disappoint, even in it’s unlit mode, there’s a gorgeous sun kissed Mediterranean fig tree scent.
The jar can be recycled and used this as a drinking tumbler when you’ve fully enjoyed your candle.
When lit, the fragrance intensifies and really does fill the room and has given our living room a truly Mediterranean ambience.
Reed Duffuser in English Garden
Looking for a lovely burst of floral fragrance? Then I highly recommend this reed diffuser, even before the reeds were fully saturated with the fragrance, that sweet English garden aroma filled our kitchen. I’ve placed the diffuser on a south facing window sill so that as it’s gently warmed by the sun, the aroma intensifies. It’s just like having a vase of flowers on the window sill.
Wow, this is such a generously sized bar of soap. It’s made from a blend of rich, moisturising shea butter and essential oils, to leave your skin feeling pampered and nourished. It’s also are triple-milled, making it smooth yet long-lasting.
The soap is such a joy to use, super soft and nourishing on the skin and the coconut scent is like a shot of tropical summer sun.
Mandarin Spice Room Spray
If you’re looking for a room spray with a rich, opulent scent to create an exotic, oriental mood, then Parkminster’s Mandarin Spice is for you.
Containing only natural bases and oils, this is a richly perfumed spray that I’ve happily spritzed all around the house, it’s so long lasting too.
It now sits close to hand, in the living room and I can’t resist a quick spritz every few hours.
As I mentioned above, as soon as I unwrapped the products from the delivery box, I was overwhelmed with the glorious sent, and also really impressed with their presentation. The packaging has that chic, on trend, luxe minimal feel to it. They will make a great gift.
In particular, as regular readers will be aware, I’ve just set up a new wedding blog; Girl Gets Wed, so I grabbed a basket and placed my products in it to show you what a brilliant mother of the bride/groom present they would make, either in place of, or in addition to the usual bouquet of flowers. What do you think?
